Asia Global Institute

The Asia Global Institute is a multidisciplinary think tank co-established by The University of Hong Kong and the Fung Global Institute.

The institute’s mission is to generate and disseminate research and ideas on global issues from Asian perspectives. It aims to inform global policy and actions towards a prosperous and sustainable future for all.

Asian Institute of International Financial Law

AIIFL serves as an umbrella for the research activities of its resident fellows (drawn from the HKU Law Faculty and the University of Hong Kong) and its honorary and visiting fellows (academics and industry professionals from outside the university). It aims to be the leading academic research centre in Asia, specialising in financial, corporate and commercial law. AIIFL has organised and hosted numerous world-renowned conferences, visitors and research projects.

Law and Technology Centre

The Law & Technology Centre is a joint Centre of the Department of Computer Science and the Faculty of Law at The University of Hong Kong, working on all aspects of information technology and law, including computerisation of legal information on the Internet, intellectual property and computer forensics. It works closely with the Centre for Information Security and Cryptography of the Department of Computer Science, which specialises in developing technologies relating to digital signature, data security and digital evidence.

HKU Institute of Data Science

The HKU Musketeers Foundation Institute of Data Science (IDS) is the first of the ten research institutes in the University’s technological development blueprint for the next decade. Drawing on strengths in varied disciplines, the Institute aspires to connect the Institute's expertise and a University-wide interest in establishing critical mass in key areas, and to explore frontier research and applications in data science, computing, mathematics, and statistics.
