The III BABEL International Conference (BIC25) explores the evolving landscape of digital money in the tokenization era. Organized by the University of Florence’s Department of Economics and Management (BABEL*) in collaboration with the European Banking Institute (EBI), the conference aims to examine the legal, regulatory, and technological implications of innovations like central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), tokenized payment systems, and the broader impact on financial stability and monetary policy. Over three days, BIC25 will feature keynote addresses, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities focused on the future of legal tender in an increasingly digital world.

Over the three-day event, BIC25 will feature keynote addresses, roundtable discussions, and networking opportunities, including:

On May 8, Professor Dirk Zetzsche will participate in the roundtable "Redefining Money—Evolving Legal Frameworks in the Token Economy," held in the Aula Magna.
