Will investment options for Generation Z be influenced by digital transformation? Would value stocks, bonds, derivatives, cryptos or simple savings be in their portfolios? Can FinTech innovations change how they invest?
HKU FinTech Day 2022’s “FinTech Retail Investment of Generation Z” panel with Dr. Yang YOU and Yali ZHU discusses how technologies such as Web-3 portals, internet brokers and robo-advisors may impact the ways in which young investors make ventures in stocks, bonds, cryptos, NFTs and more.

BIO: Prof. Chen Lin
Professor Chen Lin is the Chair of Finance and Stelux Professor in Finance at the University of Hong Kong, where he also serves as Associate Dean (Research and Knowledge Exchange) of HKU Business School, Director of Centre for Financial Innovation and Development, Director of HKU-PKU DBA Programme, and Associate Director of HKU-SCF FinTech Academy. He is also a FinTech Advisory Group member of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), a Hang Seng Index Advisory Committee member, and an Advisory Council member and a Research Fellow at HKIMR of Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Professor Lin's research interests include banking and financial institutions, corporate finance, financial technology, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship and innovation, finance and economic development.
BIO: Dr. Yang You
Dr. Yang You is an Assistant Professor in Finance at the University of Hong Kong. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Economics from Harvard University and holds Bachelors in Mathematics and Economics from Tsinghua University. Prior to joining HKU, he worked for Tower Research Capital as a quantitative trader and part-time researcher at Facebook Novi. Dr. You’s research interests include cryptocurrency and smart contracts, NFT liquidity & pricing, decentralised finance, alternative data, culture and economics.
BIO: Ms. Yali Zhu
Ms. Yali Zhu is the Managing Director and Head of FinTech & Retail Business at Huatai International. She has over 15 years of experience in Financial industry in Japan and Hong Kong. Before joining Huatai International, she served at Goldman Sachs and is responsible of trading platform and trading strategy, pricing and risk hedging for structured product, risk management for equity and credit desk. Ms. Zhu received her Master Degree of Computer Science from Peking University.
